The October 2012 ISM Manufacturing Survey PMI increased, 0.2 percentage points, to 51.7% and and is the second month for expansion. Officially manufacturing expanded at a faster rate, yet the low percentage change implies manufacturing is really holding on.
ADP, released their proprietary private payrolls jobs report for October 2012. This month ADP is reporting a gain of 158,000 private sector jobs and starting with this month, Graphed below are the reported private sector jobs from ADP. This report does not include government, or public jobs.

The ad references this Bloomberg article, from October 22nd, which reports Fiat, the majority shareholder in Chrysler, wants to move some production to China.
